 Subject: bad pcm?

I took my dak (97 3.9) into the shop, thinks i may have a bad pcm. My question is my dad has a 97 dak with 3.9 also, can I take his and hook it up in my truck and see if that remedies the prob i'm having? the prob is with the instrument cluster not working. I've tried replacing the cluster but to no avail. thanks brent

Same transmission ? Try swapping, you could also see if intruments in his work when you try your PCM in that truck. I've run mine on another PCM with no problem. Some may be an issue if there is an integrated factory alarm system. One combination might work while the other doesn't, so might be best to try it both ways.
