Subject: Power steering fluid

Message:
I want to replace the power steering fluid in my 01 Dakota with MOPAR ATF+4 which I have a lot of. Have been told this is ok and even that it was the factory fill. Found this power steering info on all Dodge products that might be helpful to others.

According to this, the 01 was still using power steering fluid and recommends continued use. I find it hard to believe that the power steering technology changed between 01 and 02, more likely a supply issue. Also, if others are using Amszoil, it is unlikely there is a seal comparability problem with +4. Know I would have to flush the system completely. Any horror stories before I do it?

I use the Amsoil Synthetic ATF in my power steering and have
been doing so for years.

No horror stories here !
