I wondering how hard it would be to put a 78 318 in a 94 dakota with a 3.9 V6. Could I do away with the computer and make carbetor instead of fuel injection? Can I use the stock tranny?

As long as the 78 5.2 has a point type dist and
a carb, it will work. I would guess you're gonna
get all sorts of computers error codes that will
have to be worked around unless you can just
unplug it from the system.

Why not swap in for a 94 318 if you look for one in the junk yard you''ll find one (RAm or even in a Jeep)
