Anyone have any preference or opinion on which rotors to get? I've got a 98 DakSport w/V6 3.9
I got it in Dec'97 and I've put UNDER 19k on it. I had the stock rotors (warped) replaced at 17k. There's a slight glazing on the remaining 1/8th of stock brake pad.
I'm planning on getting the brakes overhauled, but think I can avoid a bunch of future headaches and a couple bucks by having the shop put on non-stock parts.
Thoughts/opinions/preferences welcome...

I replaced my stock rotors at around 20,000 miles. They warped three times before I changed them. I bought the Premium raybestos rotors, and I have been happy ever since. I now have about 48,000 on my 2000 CC V-6, and no more brake issues. I still have the factory pads, but hey will be changed to aftermarket when I need new ones.

I just put on powerslot rotors and raebestos pads before going on our vacation. We drove 2300 miles and about 800 was off road in the mud, dust, sand, rocks etc. They work great. Get the superstop pads the regular are too soft.

DakotaUSA did a group by and the price was about 1/2 of what I was quoted from the autoparts stores around here.

For what it's worth, for those who haven't changed their front rotors, you will need a 7mm hex bit(allen wrench) to remove the caliper retaining pins.the best way to remove the outboard pad is to bend the mounting springs that hold it to the caliper,to install these you will need to pull down on the springs and push hard to seat the pad,or tap gently with a soft mallet, once in they wont rattle.

Wayne, there is also aretaining clip on one of the wheel nut studs,I bought replacements @2 for $6 from the dealer. They help hold the rotor in position when the wheel is off,all you need to do is cut them off and if you replace them once they are started use a lug nut to run them down. The other thing (remove about 1/2 of the brake fluid from the reservoir) is to make sure the piston is bottomed out in the caliper or the new pads won't fit over the rotor

I talked to 3 Dodge dealers in my town and they all said there is no problem with the rotors. I told them they were nuts and didn't have any busness being a service write up man.
