Hey I just got back from the car show going on near where I work. I checked out the '05 Dakota QC while I was there and honestly.....I think Dodge went backwards on this one. They calim it's bigger, but from what I can tell the front seat area is smaller than my '00 QC. The rear definitly has more leg room, but not much. Sitting in the drivers seat it reminds me of my old '96 Cherokee....the windshield is small and right in your face. It really feels cramped from the drivers seat. And speaking of which, the seat is like sitting on concrete! I guess I have another reason not to go with another Dodge.

The Nissan Titan on the other hand is VERY NICE! QC model is fullsized with 305HP, lots and lots of room and VERY comfortable fromt he frivers seat. I'm not crazy about the dash, but it seems all auto makers(except GM)is going for that staright edge angle look in their trucks. The best thing is the Titan was CHEAPER than the Dakota!! The Titan stickered at $33K and the Dakota at $34k. Go figure! More truck(probably better reliability) for less money! Sounds like I found my next truck!

I test drove a 2005 Dakota too. Didn't like it at all. It just felt weird. The seats did seem smaller (I have buckets now and the one I drove had a bench - that might have had something to do with it).

What I can't stand the most about it is the interior. I mean, is that the UGLIEST interior anyone has even seen or what!? At least have an option to make that budget plastic black instead of light grey.

I was really disspointed. Hopefully next year they might make some small changes and it look a little nicer.

I think I'm going to try to pickup a 2004 model. They are so cheap now, lots of cashback and 0% financing etc. Or MAYBE even a magnum!!

Ditto for that. I wasn't really looking to buy a truck until the spring, but when I saw the 05, I decided to get while the gettin' was good and grabbed an 04 QC. Smokin deals, but they're going FAST! It sure is a lot nicer to drive and look at than the old Ramcharger, but when push comes to shove, we'll see if it can fill the RC's pants!

I have looked at some and didn't like them at all. They look cheap. Especially the wheels look cheap I think. No flares, fake looking rims...etc

Why'd they do away with the oil pressure and voltage gauges?

The oil pressure gauge in my 03 is just a glorified idiot light anyway.

There definitly seems to be less to offer in the 05 Dakota. Yet it is much more expensive! $34K for the one I saw. You can buy a really nice full size for less than that!

I test drove one, and for me Doge has shot themselves in the foot with this for the following:
a. the lines, they hardened the lines of the exterior and made the truck ugly
b. interior, some engineer should be fired, it was that bad
c. interior, you can't upgrade the sound with woofers under the seats

I think I will stay with my 00 club cab
