Looks like the consensus is bilstiens are best if you can afford them, then edelbrock IAS, then Pro Comp ES 9000's? the Pro Comps price is sure nice, but it sounds like they are a little stiff for the street? I just want something that keeps the wheels from skitterring on washboards and rough roads, without making it ride really rough. Any testimonials? Are the Pro Comps too stiff? The truck is a y2k qc with the 5.9l, with 12k miles.

Thanks,
John

I just put a set of four Pro Comp ES9000's on my '99 5.2 4X4 a few weeks ago, I dont think they are too stiff. They just made such an improvement in the way the truck handled, (MUCH less body roll, brake dive, bounce after railroad tracks etc.) I actually wouldn't mind if they were a little stiffer. I think you would deffinitely be pleased with their performance.

I have a 2001 4.7 4x2 quad cab w/the tire&handling package. I put the procomp 9000's on ...they will NOT be too stiff. I had the same fear. I got them because I was tired of bottoming out on speedbumps, etc... They are very well mannered shocks...

I got the Bilsteins for 72.00 apiece. They are amazing. Less wheel hop better handling, its like driving a car, almost. They are worth it. My friend is going to try the IAS. BTW I have 2001 QC 4x4.

Shocks sure are a hot topic on here lately. I had the Edelbrock Performer IAS shocks installed on my Dakota today, but I can't pick it up till I get off work. They were recommended to me by numerous people, including the guys at TSW Alloy Wheels and TOYO Tires. I'll let you know how the ride is after a couple days of driving.

Rancho RSX's $50 each from Summitracing. I little stiff sometimes on very bumpy roads. I don't think you could go wrong with any of the shocks mentioned. Installed myself in about an hour.

Ok, so I'm officailly looking for Pro Comp ES9000's, but not even Pro Comp's website lists this for a 2000 dakota...where do I get it? 4wheelparts.com has the best price I've found so far, if they have them for my truck. I'll e-mail them today.
