Subject: Rear Axle & Diff. oil change
IP: Logged

Message:
I have a 2WD 2002 with the 4.7 V8. Does the rear axle fluid and diff. oil need to be changed frequently? I have 70,000 KM on it (about 45K miles). Should I have the rear end serviced?
Thanks

Yes, they need to be serviced regulalrly. How often depends on your use. Hauling and towing should bee sooner than light duty commuting use. Check your service manual /owners manual.

The most important thing to remember is to service limited slips
often (minimum of every 30-35,000 miles for me).

Remember though, It all depends on how you drive and use your
truck.

I use nothing but Amsoil and I always use a gasket v/s silicone.
