 Subject: Durango bumper cover same as dakota?

Okay, I know that the bumpers are as a general rule the same. BUT, I see a lot of Durangos that appear to have a complete fiberglass bumper cover that actually sits on top of the bumper itself as opposed to the traditional hang-below valence.
1) am I correct about these durangos
2) if yes, can I put one on my dak?
Leave it to me to come up with the most obscure questions.

97-00 have the valance that bolts to the metal bumper '01 (might be '02) has the cover over smaller bumper... dakota or durango
My 1998 Dakota had a valance bolted to the bumper. My 2000 Durango has a valance bolted to the bumper. Now my Dakota has a 2002 bumper cover.

So does this mean that if I bought a bumper cover for a durango that fits over the bumper it would not fit over my 97 dakota's bumper?
If it won't then I'm probly gonna try painting my chrome bumper. Anyone ever tried painting a chrome bumper? If it's proffesionally prepped\painted will it still chip like crazy?

You can make it fit.. i squeezed the 2002 cover over my 1998 bumper
but it just doesnt completely cover the edges around the wheel well

So I’d like to buy an install a roll pan bumper cover for my 03
durango, BUT I can only find them for 1500’s and dakotas of that
year model. Is it possible to shimmy an 03 dakota roll pan onto my
03 durango?
