i'm looking for a little help. i have a 1996 dakota and i need a throttle cable. i've looked everywhere local and can't find one. not even in a junkyard. where can i find one???

Sucks that they are no longer available from the dealer. One alternative, although a little more expensive, is to pick up throttle cables for a current gen truck and a newer TB to match - preferably from a junkyard. That would also give you the chance to port/polish one for your truck for a little extra oomph too. I figure $100 for a used TB and cables sounds about right. If you can find a pick and pull yard with a Dakota chassis, they are likely still in the truck. 92-94 had different linkages than 95-96, which were subsequently changed again in 97. Worth a shot anyway.

I would go to another dealership. I highly doubt that a Dodge dealer can't order one in.
