Hey Jeff, I'm with ya. The new one just doesn't have it. I went and looked at one yesterday. Boreing at best, to big, lookes like a squashed f150. The 04 RC's parked beside the 05's need to be put somewhere else on the lot or they'll never sell the 05's. I was so inspired, I even washed mine!

Do any of you have anything to say about performance, or are you just a bunch of fairies that only care about the way a car looks rather than the way it drives? Some people come to forums to pass along usefull information, rather than just b*tch together like a bunch of f*gs. You're all just pissed because they changed body styles and now all of your trucks are outdated and now you're not the coolest people in the forum anymore. This forum sucks. Good day.

This is a forum there genius. Maybe if you don't like what is said here then u should make you're own and anyone who doensn't think exactly like you, can be banned or maybe can just disappear since u think ur god. How about that? Besides that, the new 05's are starting to grow on me but still can't compare to the Gen III's. I've seen one lifted and had all the bells and whistles and just looked like a smaller Titan. Someday I'll own one though just cuz I'll stick with Dodge. Ugly as they may be it's still a Dak.

I traded in my '02 QC w/120k for a new one because the deal was too good and I need it for my business. I don't like the looks as well, but the taillights are the best change; I had euros on my gen III. The 6-speed is the best change mechanically; the throws are about half the distance of the old 5-speed. The steering is lighter, not an improvement in my opinion. The ride is no better with the new suspension. The rev limiter is now 5700 instead of 6000, oops! The speed limiter is now 110, but easily defeated as before. I can't wait until someone manufactures a black grill so I can get rid of the chrome. The sport appearance package rids the bumpers of chrome so they don't appear quite as pronounced, but stock or ST the front looks like it has a fat lip from a punch in the face. BUT NOW I GOT LEATHER!

Well I have a 2005 and I really like mine!

I actually think it looks better than the older models myself. I always thought they looked feminine with all the rounded edges, like they were trying to get women to buy them. No offense intended...It's just an opinion!

I just think they were trying to appeal to women who didn't want full size trucks! My wife has a 2000 Durango, she always hated driving my Ram and I know several guys who's wives didn't like driving their big trucks.

The new daks look more masculine with the sharper edges, again in my opinion. At first I wasn't sure about them either, but after seeing them in person and driving around town, I wanted one! I guess they grew on me...

The chrome grille is a bit big but It looks better than the oval chrome grille on the older ones in my opinion. I always liked the sport models best on the Gen III's. The oval shape of the older grilles looks odd to me and looked better when it blended in. The new Daks are more octagonal and angular, which I like! I think it will look good when I get some chrome wheels on it.

Mine is a 2005 QaudCab SLT 4x4 with the 4.7-H.O. and it moves along pretty good. Plenty of room for the family and even though I haven't checked the mileage yet it beats the 96 Ram I replaced for sure!

Mine seems to have some good power. I can get some good tire spin on dry pavement even with the LSD and thats running the 87-Octane. (The H.O. package comes with the LSD and 3.92 gears.) Mine seems to match the power of my wife's 5.9L in the Durango. It's hard to say, It may have less bottom grunt, but it makes up for it. It seems to be geared well and gets the revs it needs.

I haven't pushed mine too hard yet, I'm waiting until it breaks in and gets some more miles on it... I'll definately report any issues back here.

I haven't modded anything (yet) but will likely do so in the future. First I need a tonneau and bed liner. Then maybe some 20" wheels, Cat back Exaust, etc...

Give them a chance and they'll likely grow on most of you too!! Later Glen
