 Subject: auto tranny shift handle

Hey guys, i have a problem.
Ok, i was leaving a guys house the other night and when i grabed my shift handle and pulled it down to reverse the whole handle came off. Well i got it put back on no problem but i got to noticeing a couple of days ago that my handle is starting to crack in two places and i was wondering what would be a good fix or how much a new one would cost. It's on a 1998 ext. 4x4

Must be something about the 98's, bad dakota. I
also had a 98 ext, 4X4 and one day I went to take
the shifter from park to drive and the overdrive
on/off switch unit on the end cracked and hung by
the wires.
No big deal to replace and it never happened
again. Do the job yourself. I have know idea what
the cost might be but doing the job yourself, you
won't need a second morgage on the house. lol
