 Subject: Thnking of buying a new Dakota

I currently own a 2000 RC R/T, which I really like. However, with the $5k off of a '04 Dakota, it's really hard to resist. I have found an '04 RC 4X4 Sport Plus which is black over silver. It also has the towing package and bed liner. With $5K off of dealer invoice, price would be $17K. Hard to pass up!
My question is, how does the 4.7 perform? I know that there is no faster stock Dakota than my R/T, but will a 4X4 RC 4.7 be that much slower? I'm currently averaging 18 mpg from my R/T. Will the 4.7 in this configuration get comprable mileage? Thanks in advance.

keep the r/t, the 4x4 weight and problems with modifying one is going to piss you off unless you really like or need 4x4. That r/t you got there is going to be very rare someday seeing how dodge isnt even going to be making rc dakotas any more. You have a rc r/t! I would keep the r/t way more fun, way more power, old school mopar power! That is a nice deal though. My friend just got a 2004 rc 4.7 4x4. Its alright, the only thing special about it is the fact that its new. Its nowhere near as nice as r/t's i have seen.
