 Subject: Factory ring and pinion setup question

My 04 Dakota 4.7 RC 4x4 3.55 ls 5 speed manual there is a slight rear end whine at highway speeds. I can only hear it with the sliding rear window open. My truck has the factory trailer towing package. The owner’s manual recommends 75-140 synthetic gear lube if towing. Any of you DC mechanics know if trucks with factory towing package come from the factory with the heavier gear lube? If not, maybe DC left the extra clearance for the heavier gear lube.

I’m no mechanic but I don’t think DC would not set rear ends up different for trailer towing from standard rear ends.
