 Subject: Bed rail protection

I've got the Bedrug in my truck, which is great. However, it does nothing to protect the rails/tailgate. It's just a matter of time before the rails get destroyed, so was wondering if there is anything to protect them that looks decent?

When I get Rino Lining , I plan on it going over the bed rails , you may be able to do this also.

I have a LINE-X spray in liner. It is nothing short of great. It is the single most thing that people ask me about on the entire truck. I have hauled lots of stuff with my truck and I know that if I did not have this liner, i would have lots of scratches. In addition to that, it also added about 50 pounds (evenly distributed) over the rear axle. It has improved my traction in snow & rain. Cost for over the rail 6.5 foot bed w/tailgate was $475. I will definatly have it done again the next time I buy a new truck.

I purchased them and installed them in the middle of winter. They go on
with 3m double sided tape, I really didnt do a good job on installation cause with in ohhh three weeks one side was coming up and off all the time, after about a month I finally just removed them. The wife didnt like them she said they took away from the lines of the truck, and I wont be able to install the tonneau cover that I currently have on the truck. They are great if you do a good job on the install.

I purchased the black plastic bed rail liners for my 00 Dak SLT sport plus and they look great. I have a black truck so they look even better. They're available through Summit Racing catalog for like $60 and they go on with 3M tape. They are OEM fit so they fit real good especially with an under the rail liner like I have. BUT you have to prep the surface good with rubbing alcohol to get a good stick with the tape. If you have some double sided tape handy put a few extra strips where the factory doesn't on the end so they won't start coming up on you.
