Subject: Keepin' My Foglights On!
IP: Logged

Message:
I dont know if this annoys anybody else, but when i turn on my high beams, my foglights go off. There has got to be some way to turn this off, prob by unplugging or clipping a wire. If anyone knows how to fix this, please tell me.

You may want to check with your DMV first. In most states, it is illegal to have both your brights and foglights on!!!!

look into the wiring, maybe you could wire the high beams and the foglights together....

Why would you want to do that? Have you switched to driving lights?

I don't have the exact answer, but this has been covered here before. A search should uncover it. You need to jump a couple of the relays as I recall.

But take notice what was said above. In most states this is not legal, so be careful if you do it as you may get some unwanted attention from law enforcement...

I had a 01 full size Ram with factory fog lights
that did the same as you're talking about.

Insted of messing with factory wiring, I simply
removed the wires from the lights and installed
my own switch, wiring, fuse and relay. It not a
hard job at all.

If you have DRLs, simply unplug the module. You may not have a high beam indicator once you've done this, but if you can't tell the high beams are on there may be other problems.
