Subject: Blower motor only works on high?
IP: Logged

Message:
Anyone else had a problem with the HVAC only working with blower control on high?

Last night I hopped in the truck and tried to turn on the Def, only to find nothing worked (A/C indicator won't even come on) unless the blower control is on high.

I haven't looked at anything yet, but if it turns out to be something expensive, its going on for warantee.

Replace the resistor for the blower. The part costs about $10, from Dodge and is easily replacable. Good Luck..

Where is the resistor?

I didn't mention that this is an '02, common for something so new to go?

After that, do a FCUKING SEARCH so we don't have 500 pages on repeated SHAT!

Listen here 'shat' head...not everyone has the kind of time to do a search then read all the posts that come up to try and find the right information. I for one, as a 17 year old kid certainly don't have the time as I work 48hrs a week making $11/hr running a CNC lathe at a god machine shop.

So, now that you've wasted more of my time giving a response to your worthless post...go home!

Yet another reminder of why this forum has gone down hill. And people wonder why those in the know aren't around as much anymore.

Its the Resistor, If it was a switch then it would only be one speed missing or nothing. when the resister burns out you loose all your lower speeds but not your high speed because its on a seperate circuit called "the high speed fan circuit" the reason it has its own circiut is that it uses more power and its a safety featuer in case the resistor burns out so that you still have 1 fan speed to clear your window.
