I'm not defending DC, but you can find such sites for almost every manufacturer. They are all run the same way: profit is king (and queen, and ...). Safety is only a concern when it causes loss of profit. Loss of life is only a concern when it causes loss of profit. Durability is only a concern when, well, you get the idea. Don't think of any large (and most small) companies as your 'friend'. They all have the same motivator: profit.

Hard core site. Some people are pretty angry at DC. May have been set up by a law firm looking for class-action clients.

That site's been around for a while. It started as a result of that accident noted that killed the young couple.

yeah whatever that site is b/s, its true every company has had serious defects in products and only comes forward after problems have happened- most recalls occur after complaints. has anybody followed the story at mitsubishi where they have covered up multiple serious and or potentially fatally dangerous faults in many of their vehicles and those defects where never fixed or recalled. the former ceo i beleive is under serious criminal investigation. DC makes one hell of a product especially in the later years.. hell yeah dakotas f****** rule

All above replies are on the money, I will still check out the site. We have a 02 QC 4.7 4x4, and am buying another, non QC, upon my return from deployment. Am considering full size.

All business is the same. They only have 3 priorities: profits, the board memebers and the stock price...all else is to achieve those 3 things.
A quote from the President of the company I work for is a great example of this "we are in business to create value for our shareholders"
So it does not matter if your a time share company or an Auto manufacturer. The most important thing is to line the pockets of the people at the top.

You have an option to buy or not buy a car. ALL vehicles have a fault of some sort. Some rust out prematurely, others have steering component failures, some catch fire when rearended. You're buying a machine designed by a man. Humans make mistakes, that's why there's insurance companies (who are also in it for profit. What, you thought your insurance company cares about you?) that will cover those mistakes. Bad Business is dead on; make money or die trying.

Yea no doubt some of whats on that site is probably true....Funny thing is I got one of those LH cars that site hits so hard....it's got over 120,000 miles on it and the only part that has failed is the Thermostat. Only cost 7 bucks to fix...with the gasket! (I can only hope My Dak is as reliable)
But as Bad Business states so well companies are only in it for profit. If they make a product you like that just helps there bottom line even more...There's a sucker born every second so making the customer happy is not a companies biggest priority. If they piss you off with bad service or products they just move on to the next sucker. Thats pretty much how my company operates.
The whole "customer is always right" or "we pride our selves on customer serive and quality products" is just lip service to put consumers at ease....

Interesting site, this blurb is definately true, I work at a Chrysler dealership and we were told the same thing.

"Chrysler sends internal memo to dealers stating that acceptable Oil consumption for Chrysler Engines below 50,000 miles is one quart per 1,000 miles driven! Acceptable Oil consumption for Chrysler Engines with over 50,000 miles is one quart per 750 miles"

i cant complain about any of the chrysler's that i have previously owned, all got serious mileage out of them, never really noticed any of them using oil other than a 92 dakota sport i had, but it had 273,000 miles on it! still ran great then some chick in a flipping mustang pulled out infront of me while i was doing 45. Ahhh that sucked, pretty impressed with the way it took the hit. t-boned her at 45 walked away without even a headache! she was sent to the emergency room and stayed there for weeks. i am kinda pissed with the dakota i recently bought because i cant figure out why it runs like crap! but ohwell i guess you cant keep getting good deals one after another.
I found the Chevy piston slap thing kinda funny, a guy at work just bought one and has that problem, trading it in for a new hemi ram, man those are sweet! Like the new Dakotas Just as much!
