Message:
My transmission went out due to lack of fluid. Is it better to get it rebuilt or buy one that is already rebulit? To get it rebuilt they say that they have to look at it before they tell me how much in parts. What is the most the parts could be? Anyone know where a good place to buy rebuilt transmissions is, for a 91 Dakota, 5-speed manual?

I generally prefer to buy them ready to install. Cost differance is about the same, and it's less work.
