I have a ? allso I have a 96 Dakota exstended cab 4x4 auto tranny with over drive the transmissonis a 42re with the 231 transfer case my problem is when I am taking off from a stop it will shift from 1st into 2nd it feel's like it's kicking in and out of 2nd gear.I have had it at the dealer's and had the kick down cable replaced, the valve body replaced the computer flashed, had it power flushed. and it still doe's it know they say 2nd gear is gone and want to rebuild the trany. I have put $2500.oo into it so far with them playing the guessing game and they said it going to cost $2000.00 for a rebulid.I think they have been taking me for a ride. being a 4 speed automaic it should shift 3 time's am I correct? 1st to 2nd, 2nd to 3rd, 3rd to overdrive am I right? can anybody help me
