Subject: Need new tires...opinions?
IP: Logged

Message:
I have a 99 RC 2WD 3.9L 5-speed with the factory 15x7 wheels. I need new tires, right now I have the goodyear LS on there (P255/65R15). I've been looking around online but I'd like some opinions on a sport tire. I like the wide look, so I want something that will give it the widest look possible for the wheels I have on there. I also dont want anything remotely close to some clunky, big lugged tires because I have snow tires I can throw on in the winter.

Right now i'd have to say my favorite is the Pirelli Scorpion Zero tire, and it is one of the few I found that has the same size available as what I have now. Speaking of that, what other sizes would be close...or maybe even a little wider? I dont really understand all those numbers...

Thanks for the help, any intelligent advice or opinions is greatly appreciated!

How much performance are you looking for? Are you just
cruising around and want a sportier tire or are you looking for
good performance at every stoplight? If you have winter tires
and your looking for something to race with i would go with
something even more sporty than those pirreli's. Those pirrelis
are considered an all year round performance tire. They are very
good in the rain and i know some who have used them in the
snow. As far as the size goes: The "255" is the width of the tire
in mm. The 65 is the percent of the wheels face which the tire is
going to take up (how large your sidewalls are going to be). Just
to give you an idea of how big you can go, i have 275/50/16 up
front and 295/50/16 in the rear which is a pretty wide tire and i
have seen others go even larger. When looking for tires you are
going to find many different opinions on them. I have found that
the best thing to do is just try the ones you think you like after
you here what everyone else is using then go from there. Hope
this helped
