Lemmesee, since I bought my 04 V8 Quad last October and swore it would remain un mudded for awhile, that's drop-in liner, soft bed cover, rail caps, ventshades, bug deflector, altezza tails, alpine head unit with 6disk changer, westin chrome step bars, and now stull billet grill with bumper insert on saturday. Not sure if it will be bolt-over or full replacement, he has to see which of the two matches the bumper insert better. I wish I had a digital camera but every time I'm about to buy one I see something else I want on the truck.

Im a lil jittery about doin that stuff with so much warranty left. I had to fight tooth and nail, go back 2 times, get a second opinion, and force the tech to notice my wildly vibrating steering wheel just to get a goodwill replacement of my front rotors. I dont want to leave them any ammunition to give me crap about any warranty repairs.

By LAW, most of the bolt-on mods you can do will not void warranty PERIOD.

Even if that doesn't convince you, go ahead and put in a Cold Air Intake (no way that can void warranty), see about a PCM, but don't think Mopar offers one for that year, but maybe Jetchip, Cat-back exhaust, etc. Keep your foot out of it, and you might even gain 2 mpg with those mods :)

With the PCM, if you're worried about warrant, just remove it before you take it in to the dealership, takes 30 seconds.

I know the law, but I also know it wasn't really designed for the guy who puts on exhaust, intake, throttle body, etc..., so much as the guy who wants to replace the dealer's oil filter with a fram without having his warranty voided.

I know a modification they cannot prove caused the problem cannot void the warranty, but I believe if they can make a connection somehow and give you crap over it they will try. Rather than run that risk and set myself up for a possible fight I'd rather hold off for a bit.

You have a cool dealer. You lucked out. Some are not so cool and will fight you on those issues. I choose not to take the chance.

What if you need to bring it in for a paint warranty? All that stuff you stuck on could void the coverage for the factory finish.

All show and no go.
Bet the truck sure is pretty though. Propably matches your skirt real nice, Sally.

If it strokes your ego or in some way bolsters your self confidence to insult my masculinity due to the fact that I don't want to leave myself open to warranty disputes by doing performance mods this early, so be it.

Screw the idiots Eddy, they'd complain if you hung em with a brand new rope. I don't blame you a bit for not wanting to push the limits of the DC warranty. Hell, I was hesitant to replace my K&N! I was stupid enough to pay an extra $799 to extend full bumper to bumper to 70k to match the powertrain. For me to risk their compliance (which they will probably fight me anyway) over a small mod to boost my masculinity just seems stupid. Besides, I left the "my vehicles faster than yours" behind when I graduated high school. Now I'm just happy to have a nice vehicle that is reliable and suits every need I have from a vehicle.

And by the way, what rail caps did you go with and do they appear relatively stock?

Naww, the rail caps are EGR, not quite the texture I like and don't look as smooth as they could. But they do the job and they're held secure by the rails on my tonneau so I dont see myself taking them off any time soon.
