Only the rims, 16 inch on 01 and 15 on 00, and the interior as far as I know. The 01's do have small slots cut in the bottom of the front bumper and no exterior badges for Quad cabs and engine size.

Another Dodge oddity. We have 5 dealers here and I have yet to see one with them. Wonder if they were putting them on the early ones and then quit.

Now you have me wondering about that, i'll look next time i go by the dealer. My build date is 08/00, more cost cutting perhaps.

The quad cab badges were dropped mid-production year. I have seen some with, and some without. Mine came without. Musta saved a few pennies there!

2001 DAKs seem to have been bit by corporate cost-cutting measures. Below lists what the 2001 DAK QC doesn't have that the same 2000 model did:

No badges (some did have v8 and QUAD badges though)

No Hood light

No console light

SLT models stopped getting hood insulation

No numbers on the oil/temp gauges

No yellow/red line on the tach

The 2001s got a redesigned instrument cluster and air vent layout, this seems to have promoted spotty or worse A/C performance -vs- the 2000 models, one would think the same would apply for heating.

Due to EPA Federal standards, 2 more cats were added to the 2001 4.7 models resulting in a loss of 5hp...I bet DC could have tweaked the 4.7 to make up for it, but cost probably got in the way.

Lets see what the 2002 models have re: shortcomings or having to pay for certain items as a option -vs- what was standard for 2001...I wonder if the 2002 4.7 will have some more ponies -vs- the 2001 4.7?

SOME 2000s HAVE SINGLE CATS

Message:
For 2000, the "border states" emmissions package with the triple-catalytic converters was mandated only in California and Vermont.

For 2001, ALL dakotas have the triple catalysts that this package has. This also makes adding HEADERs very illeageal on ALL 2001 Daks.

Also, the 4X4 shift lever is no longer a shifter in the 2001, now it's a wimpy switch that can electrically malfunction. I have the 2000 so no worries.

I have a 2000 CC 4x4. I know it's not the QC but I wanted to comment on the Cat's. I ordered mine early 2000 and received it June 2000. It has the three Cat's and I live in New York. I recently but on a set of headers. I wouldn't think there would be that much of a difference between the QC and the CC. (minus the body)
