Everytime i make a hard left turn, at slow speeds such as a u-turn or to park.etc... The truck makes a rough popping and grinding sound. It only does it with hard lefts, not rights. I was wondering if anybody knew the cause of this. I have 10,000 miles on it thus far. 4.7l 4x4 v8. Never been offroading yet.

I had the same symptoms Chris describes. Dealer greased the steering stops and it cured it. Not saying it isn`t ball joints, but it did make a terrible noise before they greased the stops.

I have 6000 miles on my '04 and it does the same thing, very rarely, though. I've tried to duplicate it, but I can't. I've had the ball joints checked at my 3000 mile oil change, and they're fine. I'm going to bring it in this week for the 6000 mile oil change and have them check the ball joints again. I'll also ask them to grease the steering stops.

it could be your sway bar hitting the frame.
check the end caps and see if it has shifted to one side more than the other. if so then just loosen all brackets and adjust.

Mine does this all the time.

Something worth checking before taking to dealer.

(makes a little bit of a metal on metal clunk, and a pop can be felt threw the floor board.)
