Hey, I ran across a thread explaining key on/off 4 times to turn off auto-lock. I have a 1998 and it doesnt seem to work that way. I looked in the manual and it says automatic locks (doors lock after going 15 MPH) is NOT set from the factory but can be set by the dealer. Is there any DIY way to do this? If not, and I have to go to the dealer for this, what other customer preferences are available? Would be nice to go in with a list of items after having some time to consider them. Thanks.

Get in close doors and put on the seat belt.
2. Turn key to on (not start)
3. Press and hold the Lock button on the fob for at least 4 seconds, then at the same time press the panic button.
4. If you hear one chime (you did it correct)release both buttons. And that should do it.

other prefs(for my 02, not sure about 98):

--headlights on after you turn off engine (60 seconds i think)
--horn beep when you lock via factory fob
--using factory fob, when you press unlock, you can choose for it to unlock either just driver, or all doors (passenger for RC and CC, all 4 for QC)

These should all be in the manual tho. They might be different codes and processes for different years
