Are these any good? I really like the reviews on tirerack.com and i like their appearance. I dont have much life left in my current tires (Goodyear wrangler rt/s) and i wont buy wrangler rt/s tires again! I had them OEM on my other Dakota, and when they wore out replaced them with the same ones... now my "new" Dakota has the same tires on it, and i just want them GONE!! Their tread wear is poor, and the traction SUCKS! Not to mention the handling!
my current setup is as follows;
00 cc 4x4 4.7L 3:55 LSD auto (235/75 r15 tires)

Thanks for the opinions :-)

I have the same goodyears on my 01 4.7 quad. Size 265/70/16 - Worse tires I have ever had. Im looking to get rid of them- They roll in cornering, slide all over the place when the skies even have a hint of rain in them and break free if you do anything but roll out of a stop. Have you seen the Toyo Proxes ST's they make for our trucks? The dont have them on TireRack but you can find them on a web search fairly easily...Ive heard nothing but good things about these...www.toyo.com - Might be worth checking out

sounds like something to look into as well (toyo proxes ST)
yes the wranglers feel like crap in corners and break loose a LOT (they were bad enough on the 3.9L i had!!) even with lsd, i get wheelspin on normal driving takeoff!

thanks for the help!

I just ordered my Toyos today - Their on back order but all the reviews I read sounded favorable - Great looking and performing tire with snow capabilities (Not sure if that matters to you but here in MA its deffinitely a plus). Good luck with your search...It can be mind boggling with all the choices. Just as an FYI - I did the price battle between a few dealers and got the tires down to $150 installed. They list around $180 to $200. Tire rack is a great place to start and research but in my experience if you bring a local dealer the TireRack price the can usually beat it...

BUY THEM!!! Best deal on the market as far as I'm concerned. I have had them on since last December (replaced BFG KO's)and I love them. They are quieter and have better dry pavement traction than the BFG's, are just as good in the wet and snow, and are a bunch cheaper. When they wear out, I will be replacing them with the same.

i am also looking at the yokohama geolander h/t y816 tires. are those any good?? or should i just get the Geolandar A/T Plus II tires?

i live in ohio, so snow traction is a must! (not to mention rain)

timberwolf, what did you have to do to put 11.5 inch wide tires on your dakota?? mine are 10.5, and i think a little wider would be better for traction...
