I was driving along today when i saw a titan and realized that it seamed very similar to the old Dodge MAXXcab concept truck. When i got home, i pulled up side shots of each vehicle and i couldnt believe my eyes, the two were so similar it was uncanny! From the how close the front bumper is to flush with the grill to the head and tailights, the short hood, and even the curbed bottom edges of the rear doors, they were all almost identical.

Ive always thought the titan was the second best lookin truck behind the ram, and now i know why!

I guess that if you have to copy something, copy the best.

Gen III I have a good friend who has an '01 Nissan Quad cab 5 spd. manual. I've ridden hundreds of miles in this truck, trust me, it is an unmitigated POS.
The drivetrain thrases and lashes, it sounds like a friggin' washing machine and the seats suck. He's replaced the radio/cassette unit in it and it's been in the shop twice for major electrical repairs and he's still have issues with the electronics.
I'll admit the new Titan looks boss and yes, even a lot like, can you say rip-off, of the DodgeMaxx concept but based on my experience in my buddy's truck I'll take my Dak any day of the week...

Nissan stole that design in my opinion. The dodge is still better looking, leave it to those sneaky japanese to pull this off. Its a shame Dodge can't prove it in a court of law.

There are a lot of differences, but the design is quite similar...it does look as if a lil copying/stealing was involved.

Concerning Nissan :

I never have see a 30 year old JAP truck still working strong but I
have seen many American Made trucks doing so.

I heard an automotive columnist saying that Nissan was going to market their trucks more aggressively worldwide. His comment was that perhaps the Nissan brass were tired of seeing all the Toyota's rolling around the deserts with terrorists in the beds....

I call Toyota Pickups "Taliban Troop Transports". :)

You can't slam Toyota for "being seen with terrorists". The only car companies to sell to the common man in the arabian areas are Japanese automotives. Do you honestly believe a Sierra or F-150 could survive being shot up, hit with RPGS, and stripped down to the seats and tires. Hell my dodge throws a fit if you remove a module. Do you honestly think those Jap trucks have "Service Engine Soon" Lights?

Although there is something to be said about a Toyota pickup taking 100 rounds from a m249 saw and then drive off flaming but still running strong.

My comments were not intended to "slam" by any means.... Like you, I think that the beatings we've seen Toyota's take in recent world hot-spots is a testament to SOMETHING. Durability? Maintainability? Cost? Parts Availability? maybe all of them!

The Titan was designed here and is built here by Americans and for Americans. Most of you just sound like ignorant red neck KKK azzholes. Go anywhere in the world and you'll see Toyota and Nissan trucks because they are dependable and cheap and easy to fix. American trucks suck big time so they aren't sold anywhere but here.
