God that is such a pain in the butt!! My R/T keeps bouncing off that damned limiter, and I cannot find a good way around it.. I've heard a flash would help, but am unsure what I feel about raising the Rev limiter without strengthening the valvetrain. anyone know how to bring down the shift point? I've heard shift kits are a way to do this, anyone done one this and had good response?

Shift kits will not raise the limiter. If you have a 98, 99, or 2000 dak you can get the MP PCM but it will only bump it to 6000 RPM. A custom flash is the only way out and you need to upgrade the rest of the engine to handle it. Adjusting you trans cable will lower the shifts into range.

2000 CC R/T 52mm TB, M1, 2.02 R/T heads (polished chambers), headers 3.5" exhaust, flowmaster 40 single, MP PCM, removed engine driven fan(It's back on now Damnit), MSD ign-BTM, Taylor "409" plug wires with boots, Keith Black pistons, 5140 rods, ARP head studs, Hotchkis suspension 2/3 drop, Transgo shift kit, lot's of little stuff! Unless you got a M1 intake and a good flowing exhaust why do you need to go beyond 6000? There is no more power beyond that.

You still have to beef up the rods and pistons. They don't like to spin that fast. A cam can take advantage of higher revs but that still take beefing up of the valve train.

IF you want 6K RPM's. Get a 4.7

LOL! I just HAD to throw that in there. Mine now pulls pretty hard until it nails the limiter at approx 5800 to 6000 if I hold it manually and shifts at about 5800 on it's own into 2nd.
I KNOW my 4.7 can now breath beyond that. I'd like to get a flash to bring me to 6500 or so.

Even with this stock 5-45RFE it is starting to actually shift pretty hard even with the torque management.

I tried a Jet, Stage II chip. Even though I could feel a little bit of, "seat of the pants", diference in acceleration, the rev limiter remained the same. Jet claimed to remove this...
Mine won't rev beyond 5000>5200 RPM
I'm going to try the MP PCM, with a timing retard for those occassions when I use the nitrous.
