Just wondering if anyone has this tonneau and what they think of it.

Specifically, I was planning on getting rail caps to protect from 2x4s and things that I might prop over the edge of the tailgate (in the corners near the rails). If I get this RT, it looks like the tonneau aluminum rails overlap the inside edge of the bedrails, so if I propped 2x4s or something in there, they'd rest against the aluminum rail...I guess I'd have no real need for bedcaps then. Does anyone know if the aluminum tonneau frame is pretty strong? Or would leaning things against it be a bad idea? If so, I could always go with a TuffTonneau and railcaps...but the RT looks cool.

Also, does the RT tonneau provide a good seal with its velcro attatchment? I really don't want any leaks.

Thanks,
Jim

Got mine from Truckcandy.com in AZ. 299.00 shipping inc. back in Dec. Great cover, velcro is a good seal, Flush fit and looks great. Frames are strong enough for my use sofar.

Thanks for the response Breadman, I'm guessing it will serve me well. But do you think the rails could handle a few boards leaning against them occasionally (without getting bent or anything)? Or even a single 4x8 sheet of plywood thrown in the bed at an angle (propped against 1 of the bedrails)? If so I think I'm sold on the RT. None of this is stuff I plan on doing often...just the occasional Home Depot run.

Thanks,
Jim

I'm satisfied, the cover has met my expectations and I don't exactly baby the bed of my truck, I plan on having a liner sprayed in soon and I'll only overlap the tailgate to keep the it uniform. You can e-mail me for pics if you want. John jahelmke@verizon.net

I bought a Extang cover back in early 98, the dammed thing is cracking all over and also is splitting and cracking around the snaps, and the ties to hold it in the rolled up position have rotted away, repeated e-mail to them inquireing about their so-called 10 year warrenty go unanswered, and phone calles end up having me put on hold until the line goes dead, due to the fact that they just don't care about you after they have your money, I would be very cautious about buying anything from them again.

Sorry 'bout your bad luck. Both with the bad cover and the sloped head! Maybe if you had put some kind of leather or vinyl protector on it, it wouldn't be junk! You got what...7 years? stop complaining.
