my cat is glowing orange at night, and my truck runs like ass. is it bad, or is it ok to keep driving it? the truck has 209'000 on the original cat, so i think that might be it.

Nope, not good, your truck is likely misfiring and you're gonna' burn out that cat. Find the misfire ASAP. Obviously it's a spark missing.
