IP: Logged

Message:
I was wondering if i put the original gas tank the bed of my truck right behind the cab if i can still use the original fuel pump? And if i need a new fuel pump what would be the best choice i have no clue really about fuel pumps. thanks a million.

Why not? I would enclose it in an aluminum box to protect it. Make sure the wires and fuel lines are not near the drive shaft or exhaust system. Reinforce the bottom of the pickup box so the mounting screws don't pull through the bed.

Why not just put it in the back of the cab, if you have a CC. Or, if not, put it in the passenger seat?
Really, though, couldn't you just build a skid plate for it, if that's the issue (assumably you're 4x4ing with it, right?)

No not lifting I plan on draging pretty soon one option i was thinking of was to put it in the bed and build like u said a box around it and mold the box into the bed because ive seen many s-10 guys do it this way, or another option was to somehow raise up the tank n its current location kinda like a devious customs way of doing it. I dont wanna do a skid plate because thats just more parts i gotta worry about draging through plus catching my sh*t on fire.
