Is that like a bigger rubber band. LOL

Sorry man but I would switch motors first - probably easier and I know better than a turbo and the same price.

While I'm interested in hopping things up, unless you're a spend 20 grand to make my Civic compete with a $22k Mustang or Camaro guy, I wouldn't bother. Those motors have at least 9.1 compression, and unless you keep the boost relatively low your gonna rattle it to death. Get a different truck. Frankly, I don't know why anyone would buy a four cylinder Dak to begin with.

Hey leave them four banger dakotas alone. You know why someone would by a 4 cylinder Dakota? Becouse the get like 28 mpg. That is the best i got in mine so far and that was at buzzing at 80 mph down the highway. So what they are a little slower i have to visit the gas station half as offen as the V8s and V6s.
And I know I would have to swap in a turbo 1 engine out of a car first before you put the boost to it. I was just hopeing someone made or modified some intake and exhaust manifolds so these turbo engines would fit into a Dakota.

Laperriere Engineering. They have a 1988 Dakota with a Chrysler 2.5L turbo with a 5 SPD. It turned a 12.70 1/4 Mile. The four cylinder engine only weighs 325 lbs.ready to run. A V8 weighs 650 lbs. A mild turbo four can put out 300 HP. The kit cost is about $1800.00 for everything.Their e-mail is

yeah, www.forwardmotioninc.com is a great site and helpful people. I bet you could talk them into helping you with a 2.2/2.5 turbokota project.

They helped me get my '85 shelby charger into the 12s w/o an intercooler and stock turbo.

That's a fast Shelby, Intense. I only ever got low 14's (14.15 best ET) with my '86. Didn't have much of anything done to it, though. Stock turbo, stock PCM, increased boost and fuel pres., lots of fun.

+ other things i probably cant remember.. been a long time (had it when i was 17)

fun car to drive.. no little mustang driving hoodlem around here even knew what it was. With that valve train and MP controller... it would hit the end of the 7000 rpm tach (6000 redline, 7000 needle buried) and just keep building power. I probably took it up to 9000 rpms several times.

Wow, it's all coming back to me.
I had brass valve guides, ported/polished head & intake. No cat, no muffler, 2-1/2" all the way back.
A boost gauge from a Daytona in the centre console.
EGR blocked off.
K&N drop in.
Smoothed stock intake elbow at the TB.
Those cool MP plug wires with the penta star on them (blue) Ran Champion RN9YC's.
Oh, the MP cam, can't remember the specs but I think it was .460" lift(?)never did send for the video it was supposed to come with...
