anyone know if its a common thing for dakotas to be a little rough when changing between 2nd and 1st gear specifically automatics. my truck is a 2001 4.6L 4x4

I am sure you mean a 4.7. Anyway my truck is a 2002 QC with a 4.7 and it has shifted hard like that from day one. I think its a bunch of B.S. Dealer says there is nothing wrong. My family owns a transmission shop and I gaurantee there is something wrong in the valve body.

Just got the valve body replaced on my 2001 V6 CC. Turns out the part is on backorder nationwide, mine starting sticking at 52,000 miles. Hope you have extended warranty!
