Hey All, I'm new to the board and sure could use some help replacing the power mirror on my 2000 QC. Broke the driver's side one and got a replacement from a 2003 Durango. Problem is that the 2003 wiring has a 8 pin plug on it and the 2000 has only 6. Wire colors don't match either.
Sould also mention that these are heated mirrors if that make a difference. Anyone who could give me a cross reference diagram or whatever would be very appreciated.

Heat would require two more wires .
But , sorry that's all I can think of..

Thanks for the reply. I forgot to mention but, both the old mirror as well as the newer one are both heated.

The 'best' way is to get the wire diagrams for the 2000 QC and the 2003 Durango. Then compare the wire colors.

What I did was put a volt meter between each wire while I moved the mirror up/down/right/left. That told me which wire was at which voltage for each movement. For the '03 QC, there are 4 wires, 2 to each motor that change polarity to get up/down or left/right movement. I don't have heated mirrors, so I didn't test that, but it would work the same way. You then check the mirror wires in pairs with a 12V battery to see which wires move which motors.

My guess is for the 6 wire version, 4 are for the motors (2 for up/down, 2 for left/right) and the other two wires are for the heater. On the one I got, the two black wires go to the heater (doesn't matter which one is +12 or ground). For the 8 wire version, maybe there is a common wire for each motor? Or maybe there are 4 wires for the heater (allow more current). These are just guesses. On mine, the colors more or less made sense (4 weird colors for the motors and two black wires for the heater).
