My 99 DAkota V8 died twice on me today. Both times the odometer changed from the miles to
"NO BUS". What does this mean?? I am at 40K so i would have to pay the dealership. Please help

Well this isn't in my league but maybe if I answer and bring it back to the top someone else will look at it. To start off I would say that it is a computer thing but I'm not sure what the message is. Someone with a code scanner will probably have to check it for you. The bad news is that code scanners for Mopars are expensive and not many people have them. You will probably have to take it to a dealer unless someone can come to the rescue on this post.

Just called my friend at Ricart Chrysler Jeep.
He said that this is a loose connection behind the dash. You will have to remove the dash and look at the main wireing harness that goes into the back of the cluster. You may have to clean the connector and make shure its pluged all the way in. I hope this helps,I don't know how to get the dash off,but if you have to take it in,at least you know what it is now,and they can't rape you on diagnostics tests!
