Subject: K&N or Hughes Engines Intake for 318?

Hey ya'll, I have a 93 318 and I know that K&N has a intake for my Dak, but I also saw that Hughes engines sell one too. It is a little more $$, but is it worth it? Take a look.

The K&N replaces your air hat too. The Hughes ataches to the air hat. I'd say spend the extra money on the K&N.

The KN on you 93 is worthless, unless you want less power and a very loud wistle. All it does is such hot air, it is the open element style. you will be better off to buy a drop in and use your stock intake tube.

If you want the KN I have one in my garage, that I don't want, you can have it for 50 bucks.

janesy,
I was thinking of making a homemade hood scoop to get some cooler air in the engine. Do you think this would help the K&N?

I have an open cowl hood. I'm sure it would help.

The definatly look cool, little bit of nostalgia, with the open element. Lots of people used to ask me if it was supercharged because of the wistle
