Yesterday I went to Autozone and got some new rotors for my 2002 Dak, they were $38 each.
These are to replace a set I put on less than a year ago that warped (I think because of the tire shop guys using an impact gun to tighted the lug nuts, they were wayyy too tight).

Here is the interesing part, the rotors that were on the truck were purchased from NAPA and were their mid price level rotors that cost $70 each.

When I took off the rotors and compared them to the $38 ones I just got from Autozone...they were the exact same rotor. Same part number cast into the rotor, made in the same canadian plant, everything identical.

The Autozone ones come with a year warranty also, and I don't believe the NAPA ones did.

So, don't go get ripped off by NAPA's overcharging, just go get em from Autozone.

Just thought I would share this

I replaced my original rotors on my car at 175K miles, still in great shape. It would have been $12 to turn them, at someone else's convenience. So I bought Chinese (AIMCO) rotors at Autozone for $11 each. With 47K miles on them, they're like new. I keep reading about how terrible the AIMCO rotors are (and a lot of overseas castings are), but I've had great luck. Hand-torquing them to factory specs is the easiest way to make them last longer.

The rotors I got from Autozone were AIMCO also, but they were clearly canadian, it was on the box, and also stamped/cast into the rotor

Here's one you won't believe.

The rotors finally warped on my 01 at 57,000 Km (35,000 Mi) so I called the dealer for a price on replacing them.

They want $138.00 for EACH rotor and $160.00 labor to install them.

Obviously their not getting the job.

I got the $38 rotors from Autozone and they lasted about 30-40K before they warped. Since they were so good the first time I decided to go with another set,,, they lasted about 5-10K amd were warped to he11. The AZ rotors I bought only had a 3 month warranty, so there went $80.

Decided to go with Raybestos Brutestop rotors this time and they have been great, but I only have 2-3K on them. They feel like they grip better, probably the Superstop pads I put on along with the rotors.

If you can get the el'cheapo's to go 30K great, I had luck with the first set, my second set was realy bad though.

Real crappy thing is that we have to turn or change the rotors on the Dak's often. My last truck had it's origional rotors from the factory on it when I sold it. Turned thenm a couple of times, but never had to replace them, puppys lasted 140K and were still OK good.
