Subject: Quality of Mopar soft cover???

Message:
I was on the dealer's lot lookin around while they serviced my Dak today and I noticed this used 03 Ram with a mopar snapless soft cover. A puddle of water formed in the middle and was making it sag, ALOT. So I figure maybe they forgot to put the bows in and there's nothing to support it. So I pull the tailgate down and look underneath and Im shocked to see that the bow closest to the tailgate is severely bent downward, and the one in the middle is not just curved downward under the weight of the water, in the middle it's actually almost folded like there's a crease in the metal. I couldn't believe what I was seeing, so I wanted to ask if anyone on here had experienced any trouble with their Mopar cover or found the bows to be particularly flimsy. I dont know if it's that or if it was abused in some way, like a heavy object rested on top of the cover. I was thinking of replacing the snapping one I have now with something like the Mopar one, but I dont want to have to deal with a huge puddle of water making it sag every time it rains.

I asked my dealer about the Mopar cover and he said he didn't like the way it looked. He suggested the Access cover. After searching the web, I decided to go with neither and went with the Extang Saber cover from truckaddons.com. It was a REAL tight fit at first, but it has stretched quite a bit. I was impressed with the picture they have of all the people sitting on the cover on the detailed description. The price was right too!
