Anyone know how to remove the console
around the shifter in a 2000 CC with the
40/20/40 seats. Can't find any screws/bolts.
Thanks

Ok, I found the two bolts under the front tray.
Are there any others? Does the shifter boot
pull out from the top? Anyone?

What are you ultimately trying to do? Remove the shift lever (you have a stickshift?)?

I assume you are talking about the floor console. If so, my Haynes manual shows two bolts towards the engine compartment side of the console and two under the tray on the seat side (rear).

Can you be more specific with what you are trying to do.

removing the console. Where are the bolts

Actually i am not sure if there are bolts towards the engine compartment, or if they are clips (like on the dash trim). With the two rear bolts off, try lifting the whole thing out? I apologize, the Haynes illustration isnt very clear. I would check on my 2000 Dakota, but i am 400 miles away from it right now. Sorry. i am not sure how much i can help you. You should probably wait to see if someone else weighs in here, or try posting on another board, perhaps Performance

By the way
If you are removing the shift lever on an AX15 tranny, you have to drop the transmission to get to the shift lever retainer. If you have the NV1500 or NV3500, you dont have to.

Sorry i couldnt help you more
Good luck
