 Subject: Amsoil Question?

What does Amsoil/synthetics offer in the case of marine engines? I recently bought a boat with a 5.0 volvo penta inboard/outboard engine and would like to put Amsoil/Synthetic oil in the engine and outdrive since it has worked so wonderfully in my Dak. Any Opinions and/or ideas are welcome.

AMSOIL For Marine Applications
What's the unique problem of the marine engine? Water. Water promotes rust, corrosion and rapid wear. Freshwater-cooled boats operate cool, which promotes in-engine condensation and rust. Closed-system marine engines tend to operate very hot, which promotes the creation of acids - and engine corrosion. The longer the engine works, the more water and acid build, and the acid and water continue to work after engine shutdown. AMSOIL synthetic engine oils shield engine parts from rust and continuously neutralize engine oil acids.
Engine Oil
AMSOIL Synthetic 15W-40 Heavy Duty Diesel and Marine Oil is specifically formulated for marine diesel or gasoline engines, with powerful rust inhibitors and 12 TBN, a highly protective acid-neutralization number. AMSOIL 15W-40 Marine Oil is formulated for extended drain intervals, and has proven itself in extended drain in-engine service since 1975, the year it was introduced.
Outboard 2-Cycle Engines - Synthetic 2 Cycle Oils
AMSOIL Synthetic 2-Cycle Oils, available in pre-mix (100:1) and injector formulations, reduce friction and wear, improve throttle response and deliver maximum power. Their clean-burning formulations prevent plug fouling and carbon deposits, delivering quick dependable starts, sustained power and performance with virtually no smoke and emissions, even during prolonged idling. AMSOIL 2-cycle oils contain anti-rust agents for rust inhibition during off-season storage.
Series 2000 2-Cycle Racing Oil
AMSOIL Series 2000 2-Cycle Racing Oil retained 17.6 percent more power in lubricity tests when run against petroleum and synthetic TC-W3 reference oils. The outstanding lubrication and protection offered by AMSOIL Series 2000 2-Cycle Racing Oil to two-cycle engines subject to the flat-out performance demands of racing minimizes power-robbing friction and prevents piston scuffing and seizure.
