i have a 98 3.9 V6 2WD CC and i just got my liscense yesterday. I was driving it around and after a while i started to notice that every time i slowed and then just barely accelerated my RPMs would go up to like 2700 to 3000 and make a huge roaring sound. When the truck is parked its is going and 600 RPMs. This is killing my gas and my over drive is off. I have no idea what the problem is. SOMEONE PLEASE PLEASE HELP ME. ill goo broke from gas at this rate.

Check to see if it only does this when its hot. Or right after you start it up.. This could be the old fan clutch thing..
