 Subject: Which axle?

Hey I got a 1999 Red Dodge Dakota about a month ago. I was wondering what kind of axle I have in the rear because I'm looking at getting lockers. I don't have limited slip. It's 3.55. Thanks for anybody's help.

Well the stock rear is open wheel. I had one until I put an LSD in it.

Ask the dealer, give him your VIN. My parts department tells me all kinds of things with the VIN. Only thing I can think of.

What brand LSD did you install--my 2000 qc 4x4 doesn't have posi trac and I'm wanting to remedy that.

its most likely a chrysler 9.25.
look at the bolt pattern on the pumpkin, if its round slightly oval with 10 holes, then its a 8.25. if it kinda looks daimond shaped with 12 holes, then its a 9.25.
