thanks to all who replied to my dilemma which was do i go with the 3.55/LSD or the 3.92/LSD in my 04 QC 4.7 L AUTO. after considering all comments on the forum i have made an emergency stop (lol)on my truck order with the 3.55 and was able to get it changed to 3.92 before it gets built. i hope i don't regret this decision. i am just starting to find out about all the stuff you can do to a dakota to help give it a litte more "pep".i have also ordered the chrome package with the 17" rims and AS performance tires. will these tires and rims do anything to compliment the 3.92/LSD or do nothing in the way of performance? thanks again.

Good job on the 3:92 and LSD! My salesman talked me into the 3:55's and I was pissed later. I ended up changing to a 4:10 and wish I would have gone to a 4:56. The overall tire diamater is what will change your gearing. Take a look at "plus sizing" bigger rim, smaller sidewall = same overall diamater. 3:92 gears and taller sidewall means long gears.(closer to 3:55) Smaller overall would reduce the gearing more. (closer to 4:10)
Your tire and wheel package should still be close to a 31" diamater.

Play with the calculators on Rady's to get a better idea

good luck.
