Subject: Slight Miss

My '02 QC 4.7 seems to have a slight miss at medium (40 - 55 mph) speeds. It is most noticeable with a load or on a slight incline. Seems to be a problem only when torque converter is locked. I have read some posts on this site attributing such problems to the TPS. Most posts say that the problem is more prevalent with cruise on. Mine is more prevalent with cruise off - truck runs much smoother with cruise on at highway speeds. Can this still be the TPS? Dealer will not try to trace problem unless check engine light is on. (It's not). How do I get dealer to check TPS and replace if necessary?
