 Subject: Water in cab

I have been reading about the water in other dakotas. I have problems with water on both drivers and passenger side. My truck is in the shop, and they are trying find out why. If anybody else has had the problem on both side post a message and tell how it was fixed.

What year is your Dak. I had a very similar problem. My is a 92 5.2 4x4, the leak was getting in on both driver side and passenger side. The leak turned out to be the gasket just below the window, beneath the cowling where the wind shield wipers come through. A 4 dollar tube of GE #2 silicon and a caulking gun solved my problem. Good luck with yours. You might want to use the search function and try water leak in cab.

I have a leak on my 88 that only seems to get the drivers side seat belt wet. I cant find where the water is coming from. The carpet around the seat belt area on the floor is dry, just the belt gets wet. Any Ideas?

Check your door gaskets on the driver side, it possible the rubber channel that channels water away from the door may be plugged up, like leaves plugging up a gutter on the house.

There is a very good chance your a/c drain is plugged. Its a common complaint with Daks suddenly haveing a wet floor from an unknown source. The a/c runs when your defroster is on so it happens in winter too.

The dealership found the problem it was something around the back seat windows. It took them about a day and a half to find. and they are replacing the carpet also, so it seems to be a pretty good deal. I go back next thursday for the carpet.
