Subject: NEED TORSION BAR HELP!!
IP: Logged

Message:
Hello! I had my control arms off to get the bushings replaced, and now that I am putting it all back together, I cannot for the life of me figure out how to reinstall the torsion bars and set everything back to the right spot. I have both control arms back on, and the torsion bar placed into the socket onto the control arm, and when i tighten it at the frame, it just forces the upper CA onto the bump stops. I assume it has to have tension on it because it acts as the spring, but I don't know what order I have to go in to dial everything in! Does the shock need to be installed before I do the torsion bar? Please help me figure this out!!

its so easy

If your truck is lifted in the air (tires not on the ground) then your upper control arm WILL hit the bump stops. Did you try lowering the truck back on the ground? Or did you word something wrong here??

THATS what I wanted to hear!!!

Now I feel better about the bars. I know they arent switched. I have since put the truck down and driven it. The suspension came off the bumpstops with the weight of the truck on it, but it's sitting about an inch higher than before, with the T-bars at the same marks. So I gotta play with them some more to get it just right. I'll have the alignment done tomorrow, and have the shop go over the whole deal to make sure I didnt totally mess anything up. Thanks!
