Well here is the story.
A few weeks ago i set out to install a set of HO cams in the truck. It seems simple but things went wrong fast. started to tear it down got the drivers side cam out only to find out that MOPAR packed the cams wrong (right part number wrong cam) so we put it all back together and started the truck not good. Heard a noise and the truck ran like crap. So we pulle dthe cover back off only to find that the pin on the cam broke bending 2 valves number 1 and 3. So i order a rebuilt head for 380.00 spen another 100.00 on gaskets and a few more bucks on oils and other odds and ends. get the new head in along with a fresh set of HO cams and go to work. Well the cams were wrong again so i say oh well i guess it was not ment to have HO cams. I start tearing the motor down get every thing off and the new head set in. Bolt it all back together and she started right up. Ran great. We took off to delaware to go house hunting. Put about 350 miles on it last weekend. Now it gets better. On the way home juts as we start crossing the Bay Brigde we have to stop for a wreak on the bridge. Only one lane of traffic and she died. MTA tows me off the bridge then after 250.00 tow bill we are back home about 1am. so i got no codes nothgin so i start looking for the problem on the drivers side where i just did the work and every thing is good. so another tow to the delare later they call me today and say that a rocker broke and chipped the cam and bent a valve on number 4. he said the valve looks like it was push perty far down and the rocker was down in the head. He hopes that the pipstin is not broke. So now I am looking at another 1500.00 to get it fixed. Man this just sucks I have no money i am trying to sell one house and buy another wife starts her job in Delaware April 5th and I don;t have a job there yet. Life just sucks big time. It looks like I will haev to part out every thing on the truck just to get the motor fixed. Oh and the kicker is I still don't have the HO cams

Wow... that is pretty bad. I guess all I have to offer is 2 pieces of advice.

1. Your luck has to turn around quickly, I suggest you buy a lottery ticket this week.

2. Park the Dead Dak in your driveway and let it sit until the money comes in. Save the $1500 for the repairs later. Go buy a $500 beater honda or something that will run for at least 4 to 6 months. Wait to do the repairs until you get a new job, dump the honda.

You officially have me spooked about putting in HO parts now.

That sux royal!!!! Sorry that happened to you man. Geez - I feel lucky for sure. I slapped them in - she fired right up, and I've put several thousand miles on her since.

I agree w/Mr. Sleepy though - by a beater for a while and fix your truck right.

Good Luck!

Sorry to hear about your bad luck. I'm still cleaning up the mess from my dropped valve. Headed pipe is broke and the muffler sounds like a baffle has broke loose in it. And my health has took a dump so I can barely do any work myself. It seems when it rains it pours. Anyway, good luck, hang in there. Tomorrow will be different.
