hey yall,

been reading the fourm for a while now, and i got a problem of my own. i clipped something and tore a big gash in the side of my truck. now its on the passengers side, and isolated to the panel that runs down the bed of my truck.
I was wondering if anyone can tell me what this panel is called (bed panel??) and if anyone knows where to get a replacement, aside from the scrapyard.

Cheers

WrecklessH8,

It's usually reffered to as a "bedside." I got in a small wreck and damaged the driver's side bedside and found that the only places to get a stock replacement were direct from Dodge or from a scrap yard (scrap yard being the cheaper of the 2. I was quoted around $1100 for the bodyshop to get a new one from Dodge. Decided to wait a few months till they came out and ended up getting the fiberglass bedsides and front fenders from Glassworks Unlimited.

Haven't found any aftermarket places that make a steel factory replacement bedside. Bodyshop said that they were relatively new, so there weren't yet any companies making them on the aftermarket. I have a 98 Dakota. If your is Gen 1 or 2, you might have better luck on the aftermarket than I did.

Good luck!
