Anyone had or have this problem? During warm
weather (most times) and the plastic inside cab
is warm, you put your left turn signal on and left
and right lights begin to flash? It's like you
just turned your four ways on.

This may happen several times a day to no times
a day. Getting the dealer to look at the problem
is like pulling teeth. They have to see it happen
before they will look at it. Nothing new for
dealers.

The dealer won't admit that there is a problem but
then again they won't admit to the warped rotor
problem either.

Anyone else have this problem?

I had the same problem, It was a bad flasher unit.
I tried to buy one myself, but the "part is too new". No parts stores had it. When I went to the service dept. to purchase one, they told me that it would have to go in for warrenty and would not sell me one.

Great now I have leave my truck and ride a bicycle so they can look at my truck.

I get a call later saying the mech. is going to charge me for an hours labor to trouble shoot around my aftermarket wireing. I tell them to replace the GOD DAMN flasher or I am coming back down there. ( After peddaling all day I was a little pissy).
They called me back 5 min later and said it was ready to pick up.

Good luck with yours, maybe they will sell you the part and you can avoid teh dealer all togeather.

jaggy, I never gave that a thought.. Maybe it is
something as simple as the "flasher" unit.
If I can buy it from a local parts house, I may
just go ahead and replace it myself. What the
heck, it can't cost that much, can it? I'm
thinking of the older type flasher units that
just plugged in. Hope they are the same..

Thanks for the reply..

Hey Radioman,
I have the same problem, but my truck does it with the right signal instead of the left. The dealer originally said a bad bulb? They all check fine. Now they are saying there is a switch module in the steering column that has gone bad in some trucks. I suggested the flasher, and he said no. It is under warranty, but it is an intermiitant problem. So, they want me to leave it and hope it acts up so they can diagnose and fix it. Yeah right! I think I am trying the flasher first. I figure it is only a $5-6 part from the parts store. Alot less trouble than monkeying with the dealership. I posted on here titled "Flashers", not seeing your post. Let me know what you get - ditto for me.

I looked for a traditional style flasher under the dash like my '93 Dak had - can't locate it. I think it is a black plastic module. AdvanceAuto doesn't even list it. The dealer wants $36 for one - ouch! It has to be a module of some sort for that price. I may have to give in and go to the dealer and let them fix it. I was hoping for a quick, easy, painless fix. Like the balljoints! LOL. What year is your truck? Mine is an '02 SLT CC w/ 4.7 and 22,800 miles.

This happened to my 01 QC. After 3 trips to the dealer with nothing fixed I happened to be driving by when it happened again. I left the signal on and pulled in to show the service manager I wasn't an idiot. They replaced the "light control module". No problem since.

I did forget to say this but it's a 02, 4x4 Sport
with 4.7 and that crummy five speed never happy to
stay in O/D automatic.

I'm sure the turn signal problem is going to have
to be there 100% before the dealer admits there is
a problem. I'm sure they know of the problem. In
fact, I bet they have read a service bulletin on
the subject but they would rather wait till there
is 36000 or the three years is up so they can
stick me good.

After watching the ABC news the other evening with
the ball joint problem and what DC said about it
and it's ok to let some people die rather than
have a re-call, I lost my faith in the SOB's!

Again I say it; "It's all about money"
