I have a 87 dakota and the fuel gauge doesnt work. A new sending unit is around 130$ i heard. Has this happened to anyone else with a earlier dakota? Can it just be a bad ground or something? Thanks

Hello $130.00 sounds a bit steep,is that after market cost or dealer? And yes could very well be a ground wire thats the first thing i would check before dumping that kind of money into it. Given the age of the vehicle it's iether the wiring or the float in the tank has died.
