Dear Jackass,
So he spelled a word wrong. So what? What is the point of creating an entire thread mocking him? Particularly when you misspell "too" in the thread title. Are you going to point out each misspelt word on this entire board? Good luck, because you'll be typing for the rest of your life.

It's misspelled, not misspelt. Also, your third sentence is actually a fragment of a full sentence.

Too bad for you spelling bee...you still should have used misspelled in your sentence, not misspelt. It all has to do with tense usage. You misspelled the word, but the word was misspelt. Thanks Mr. Spelling B-

It's almost tense, but "was misspelt" is a verb in the passive voice, whereas if one were to write that "he misspelled" the word, his or her verb would be in the active voice.

I have 11th Grade AP English to thank for that one.

I humbly offer my deepest, most sincere apologies for my grammar faux-pas. I deeply regret that my quality of sentence structure has not met the stringent quality guidelines we have all come to expect here at DodgeDakotas.com.

From this point forward, I shall banish myself to the deepest recesses of the Off-Topic Board, where I shall type Ebonics in all upper case.

Farewell, gentlemen.
